William Grosvenor House (Fair Oak, Roslyn)
Built for two related Providence patrons, these houses of similar size, part of a handsome group of three on either side of Beacon Hill Road (see also the George Gordon King House, below), show some of the same stylistic features. On Wyndham, the bold feature of a rotund tower implies historical references; the dark stone trim, broad entry arch, and overhanging corner turret of Roslyn suggest a Richardsonian Romanesque vocabulary.
