At the end of Jennys Lane, at the corner of Mathewson Road, is one of several houses in the vicinity once owned by Allen C. Mathewson. It is a well-preserved example of a cross-gabled bracketed cottage. In the late 1800s Mathewson did much to promote Barrington as a desirable residential suburb; the tower of St. John's Church was erected to his memory.
