1925, Paul P. Cret. University Ave. at the Schuylkill River

Cret's elegant neoclassical bridge was conceived as part of the University of Pennsylvania's study of the potential expansion of its campus across the river. Intended as a major focus of roads leading to the campus, it is the most architectural of the Schuylkill River bridges, with octagonal bridge tender's booths surrounded by columns on each side of the drawbridge.
