For this library building the architects turned to the stylistic features of the contemporary American Arts and Crafts (Craftsman) movement. The lower portion of the walls is brick, and brick piers extend upward as pinnacles above the roof eaves. The upper section of the building, including its central gable, is of stucco and half-timbering, and the stepped gable roof is covered with flat terracotta tile. The gabled end on the right has been sympathetically extended, doubling the building in size.
