Here one encounters a one-and-a-half-story dwelling with a mansard roof and a tall central cupola. But the design is certainly not French Second Empire, nor is it Queen Anne or Colonial Revival. The proportions of the house, the row of strange gabled dormers gazing out from the mansard roof, and the porch columns placed on raised stone piers have all the hallmarks of a grand do-it-yourself project.
