The corner porch designed as a semi-circular pavilion acknowledges the corner lot location of this Queen Anne dwelling. To balance the porch, a tower has been placed on the other side. The classical columns (Ionic) and the design of the balustrade railing of the porch refer to the Colonial Revival. Two other houses in town should be noted. These are another Queen Anne house at 345 North Clark Street (with elaborate turned work), and “The Mansion,” the headquarters of the Winnebago Historical Society, located at the southwest corner of Clark and M streets. “The Mansion” excellently presents the Colonial Revival of the turn of the century.
