The two most interesting pieces on the campus are the old chapel (now Alumni Hall, 1907) and the new Blades Hall (1980–1981, designed by the Durrant Group). The chapel is a small Gothic Revival structure of brick with stone trim. An open screen-wall tower projects from the center of the chapel's front gable end. Blades Hall occupies the site of the 1907 three-and-a-half-story Steffins Hall, and its designers have utilized several fragments from the older building: the two former loggias and the central entrance in the Doric order form the screen wall beyond which is centered the Gothic Revival chapel. The new Blades Hall with its heavily emphasized roof and large round windows is highly sympathetic to the older architecture.
