This is another of Heer's elegant French Second Empire-style houses. The walls in this instance are sheathed in finely cut Indiana limestone with the addition of an incised design to suggest smooth ashlar blocks. The impressive design element of this house is its north wall, facing Fifteenth Street, where the architect has created a series of angular geometric patterns that seem to pour across the surface. Equally exciting is the three-dimensional pattern he created using chimneys and dormers within the mansard roof.
