The small Carpenter's Gothic Immaculate Conception Catholic Mission (1897) was moved from Creede to this hillside to make room for a new log church (c. 1974) at the northwest corner of Main and 3rd streets. Amid the tomb-stones behind the old church, a miniature model of the church serves as a mausoleum for the Kiner family. In the “shotgun cemetery” (Creede's Boot Hill) 30 yards north a wooden marker commemorates saloonkeeper Bob Ford, who killed Jesse James before dying of a gunshot wound himself.
