
Masses in Sterling were celebrated in Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad construction tents before St. Anthony's was built. The Deadwood, South Dakota, architects used pressed brick on a stone foundation and lighter brick trim. The cruciform plan features unmatched towers flanking the main entry's compound round arch with tympanum and half pillars, all within a Gothic arch. Round-arched windows are accented by light-colored voussoirs and filled with leaded stained glass.
