Dominating the landscape and social life of Rollinsville, the two-story board-and-batten inn has sheet metal pressed and painted to look like brick on the second story under a metal roof. Apparently built as the Toll Gate Barn of the Butterfield Stage, it has accommodated a hotel, grocery, general store, and several taverns over the years. In the tongue-and-groove-walled, hardwood-floored hayloft/dance hall, wood pins and mortising are still visible. The back bar is an 1860s mahogany classic supposedly brought from Missouri by covered wagon, while the barroom chandeliers are constructed from pulley wheels of the now demolished Rollins Steam Quartz Mill.
