Immediately after the fire, Tom DeVane built the most dramatic building along the waterfront, a one-story log store. The long building, built of round logs squared and lap jointed at the corners, has a cross gable in both front and rear near the center of the building. Corrugated-metal additions on one end indicate that it was a successful store, requiring expansion, but it is now abandoned.
