1914. Kennicott Ave. and Skola St.

The false-fronted McCarthy General Store contained a store on the ground floor and a rooming house above. The one-story portion, creating an L-plan, was added soon after construction. The entrance is in the corner, in a distinctively commercial arrangement. The principal developers and businessmen of McCarthy—J. B. O'Neill, Charles T. O'Neill, R. L. H. Marshall, and O. G. Watsjold—all owned the store at one time or another. Still visible is the sign painted on the front, “O.G. Watsjold, Groceries and Meat.”
