This row of cottages was built by the Copper River and Northwestern Railway for its employees. Although several types of buildings were constructed, including a two-story house for the superintendent at 314 Railroad Row, the basic type appears to have been a one-story, hip-roofed model. Although all of these cottages underwent changes after acquisition by private owners in the 1940s, their basic similarity identifies them as company built.
