BP Base Operations Center

1987, Ralph M. Parsons Company. Endicott

Located 10 miles northeast of Prudhoe Bay, the Endicott oil field went into production in 1987. BP's Base Operations Center, a self-contained community providing room for 150 workers, was designed by the Ralph M. Parsons Company, an engineering firm, and constructed in prefabricated modules by ATCO, a Calgary company. In a departure from precedent established at its Prudhoe Bay operations center, the modules were hauled in by truck, rather than by barge. As at Prudhoe, residential rooms are arranged around a public core—here, two stories of dining room, lounge areas, theater, and gymnasium. All of the bedrooms are on the exterior.
