The Visitor Access Center at Riley Creek borrows from Rustic architecture and railroad buildings. The two-story building is large, with a high gable roof with gable dormers, covered with standing-seam metal. The walls covered with beveled siding, alternating with bands of vertical planks, recall railroad architecture. A hip-roofed porch with a log-handrail balustrade on three sides of the building and cross-gable entrances with exposed log bracing in the gables are elements of the Rustic style.

Most of the interior is opened to the full two-story space, lit by a large window in the gable end. At the other end is a 250-seat theater, and along one side there are offices on two levels. The function of the building is to process visitors, sending them in appropriate directions, while at the same time giving them an introduction to the park. This handsome building is an appealing beginning to a visit.
